Howdy out there!
I thought I’d share some of the things that I watch, listen to, read or games I play when I get 5 minutes to chill (or more often, TV/Radio playing in the background while I work)
We don’t have live TV, but watch on demand or via YouTube so we don’t miss out.
Generally we like classic comedy like Morcambe & Wise, The Two Ronnies and that sort of family-friendly fun. We also watch factual stuff such as history documentaries and real-life experiences.
Personally, I LOVE watching cookery shows such as Gordon Ramsay or The Pioneer Woman or ancient history documentaries about Mayans or dinosaurs and such-like.
As a family, we like watching Super-nanny/World’s Strictest Parents type programmes or documentaries like Ghost Adventures or archaeological studies.
I love reading books and eBooks, (I am a kindle user….much to my mum and hubby’s disgust L.O.L.) I especially love classics Such as Charles Dickens (particularly A Christmas Carol, David Copperfield and Nicholas Nickleby… in that order. Always.) and L M Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables collection. Other than that I read mostly factual books about self-improvement or Bible study.
Music-wise a good 90% of my music is from the 1970s (Mud, Wizard, The Sweet… oh how I love it all!) but I enjoy something from all genres of music. Radio comes in the form of Pirate FM because of the sense of Cornish unity and brilliant music and well, general awesomeness.
I’m not a computer gamer, but if I do have a go, I play logical/ brain-training/word search type things (because sometimes you need to wake your brain up after vacuuming!)
YouTube is relatively new to me (although my Hubby and daughter are well-versed). I started looking at film trailers and reviews because I love movie trivia (no seriously, if I recognize an actor but can’t place them I will not rest until I see the name on credits and look them up on imdb).
So looking for Beauty and the Beast stuff when they announced it, I found Super Carlin Brothers! I didn’t think I’d have much in common with a couple of lads fresh out of college with no kids, but I was soooooooo wrong! I love their mix of randomness and theories with the facts about some of my favourite films.
In a completely different category of video, I love J House Vlogs which is about a beautiful family and simply how their lives pan out with 5 young kids; as a parent it’s endearing, entertaining and full of fun ideas (and a realistic amount of tantrums, laundry, etc…. keepin’ it real.)
I recommend you check any and all of these out, let me know what you think and any suggestions you have for me! Thanks x
