Afternoon Peeps!
Wasn’t sure what to talk about today, but I’ve been to church and heard an awesome sermon about showing love…so I thought I’d share my thoughts on it.
I’m quite outgoing and happy to chat, so sharing my faith and God’s love is quite easy for me…Jesus deserves praise and to be talked about, He died for us! God creates and knows all things, so again, easy to talk about because His love relates to literally everything.
The bit I find harder (I’m sure I’m not the only one) is the showing it…walking the walk instead of just talking the talk. Talking about God’s love, my experience of it and my love for Him is much easier in some ways than stopping and taking the time to show God’s love.
Well, they’re God’s creation too. I need to remember when I’m cross, that a person is a creation, just like the sunset or the sea…God has a plan for them too, I’m not more (or less) important than anyone else. We are all His creation.
Furthermore, if they are believers they are actually part of Christ’s body! Y’know the same Jesus I just said I loved and was perfect…yeah well the person that upset or angered me could be one of His limbs intended for doing good stuff here……. ouch.
Even if you’re in a good place spiritually, not mad at anyone, making the conscious effort to stop and help someone is exactly that; effort.
Jesus said to do it as if we were doing it for Him, so go and help that elderly person pick up the thing they dropped, pay for the table next to you’s dinner, offer to help paint a fence….works are not for saving you but to show Christ’s love to others.
So I’ll leave you to think on that, I certainly will be!
