Howdy Peeps!
Y’all can probably work out that yesterday was 7 months until Christmas! 🙂 🙂 🙂
If you were here the end of last year, you’ll know how much I love Christmas (understatement of the year!) and how much I love planning. The thing is we’ve lived for years on a tighter budget and I buy a lot at Christmas, so being ready early helps me budget.
We had a family meeting about money last night anyway, I asked my daughter if she wanted to go to the Christmas fair/market we went to last year, she was very keen!
I looked it up (last weekend in November) and it’s 25 weeks from today! A nice easy number to work with…£10 per week savings from today gives me £250 by then, which is plenty for Christmas.
I don’t usually spend that much on Christmas (apart from when I replaced the artificial tree) and I certainly won’t spend all that in the market, but I can certainly spend more than I did last year.
We didn’t know what to expect last year (how it would be priced, the types of things on offer, food and parking, etc) so we took a bit of money and got a few gifts and some lunch. So some of my budget this year will include petrol to get there and lunch.
Just thought it was worth sharing as £250 is a good budget for Christmas and you’ve got time to save it if you start soon.
Happy scrimping, I’m off to work.
Have a good one peeps!
