Getting Older Hollywood-Style

Howdy Saturday Peeps!

Thought I’d share with you a little of how my brain works (I make no apologies for it); this was not made up for entertainment purposes it is genuinely my thought process from a week or two ago… my head is like one mashed up music and film reference library! Have Fun.

Disney’s Robin Hood (1973)

Now, you’re heroine is the sarcastic old bird (who does some mean tackling by the way!):



Hairspray (2007)

When it came out, I was already a fair bit older than Nikki Blonsky’s character but close enough to remember that feeling of being the fat kid in class, she was such a positive inspiration and amazingly talented…I mean this face just makes you smile:

Then you see John Travolta do this:


I’ve grown up watching his movies, but that right there was my fave and this is the best scene in the film…or so I thought at the time. Now my life goals are to have this marriage:

timeless to me


Of course, there are always people like Goldie Hawn in the movie world who never seem to age…so I thought I’d throw in my favourite feisty female’s ‘then and now’ to show we can look good as we get older….
