Howdy Peeps!
Firstly, happy birthday to Joseph Marcell a brilliant actor/comedian best known to my generation as Geoffrey the Butler in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air!! 71 years young!!
Secondly, Jurassic stuff… because, let’s be honest, there’s rarely a film post of mine where I don’t mention it!.. klayton, and many other Jurassic-themed YouTube videos, have been talking about 2 things…
1) the new JP ride (lots of footage)
2) pre-production of Jurassic world 3!! The latter has a whole video on klayton’s recent playlist. Even more recently on klayton’s channel he was talking about how Dr Grant was almost in the Lost World. Which is playing on the news we’re all waiting for… whether the original cast will appear in the final film; rumours abound but I doubt they’ll make us hang on until the film to see if Ellie and Alan return, but I think they’ll keep the hype until closer to release. (2 years!!! How can I wait that long!!??)
Moving on from dinosaurs… to vampires. Not something I’m into but Netflix have recently added Dark Shadows and it’s awesome! I know it’s 6 or 7 years old now but we’ve never seen it. It’s very tongue-in-cheek and tim burton’s classic dark sense of humour shines through. The cast list is amazing and the special effects go from ‘I could’ve done that’ to ‘wow I didn’t know that was possible’. There are brilliant bits and cheesy bits… I think most of the budget went on the cast… Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Alice Cooper! To name but a few. Also, being set in the early 70s, the music is awesome! An entertaining watch… if you share burton’s sense of humour (like we do)! 😉
From watching to reading… I’m almost at the end of Brisingr, the 3rd book in the Eragon series…. I love it! They get better each time! Still recommend them to any fantasy fans who haven’t read them.
Joy of joys my daughter is finally reading Anne of Green Gables! If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know I read the whole series at least once a year. She watched ‘Anne with an E’ on Netflix and is now as obsessed as I am! So nice to have obscure taste in common.
So I’m gonna go watch an episode of Another Life and maybe read a bit more of Brisingr… have a good one peeps!
