No, I haven’t got the quote wrong, it is actually a description of my life at the moment.
The dentist trip last week was successful but the new dentist said I have a lot of enamel wear for someone my age. Apparently it’s because of the terrible diet coke habit I had before I found out the sweeteners weren’t compatible with my PCOS symptoms. That was 5 years ago and the dentist could tell; it is not the sugar (although that’s not great) it’s the fizz…. so no lemonade for me.
Lemon water is synonymous with diet & health advice, but I’ve never liked lemon-flavoured anything. Even so, I did it for 2 weeks a little while ago just to try it… I don’t know if it had any benefits, but drinking more water is always good anyway and I learned to tolerate the lemon flavour.
Life is generally like that; things we don’t like but are good for us/have to be done… going to the dentist, doing accounts, revision and exams (very hot topic in our house at the mo…teenager has mock exams for the next 2 weeks!) and a whole bunch of other stuff. But you know what? Doing the good-for-you stuff can be joyful too because you’ve satisfied a need, been productive or improved an aspect of your life… so I guess missing a fizzy drink is worth that! 🙂
Have a good one peeps,
