Howdy peeps.
So I finally caved and watched Frozen 2 on Disney+ and was very pleasantly surprised.
I was expecting my opinion to be somewhere between Frozen and Toy Story 4, not really rating either of them.
It was exquisite animation with beautiful forest scenes for us woodland sprites 😉.
The characters are much more developed, the plot is much better than the first and the music is incredible.
The best things are the themes running through it: the grief song is very powerful, particularly as it comes just after Elsa’s “show yourself” which is beautiful and self-affirming. There is a lot of self discovery and acceptance and peacemaking in it… such good messages.
Disney have been increasingly self-aware in recent years and there’s a nice little moment where Elsa cringed at the memory of herself singing let it go 🤣. I appreciate that ability to laugh at themselves.
I guess my point is that it’s worth watching (if you haven’t already) …even if you didn’t rate the first one or some other princess movies… this is clever, beautiful and makes you think.

🙂 I was one of the Frozen late bloomers. My kids basically forced it on me and we actually watched EVERY MOMENT of it without interjecting. 5 kids 2 adults NO TALKING through an entire movie. When does that ever happen?
