Hey-ho Peeps!
Firstly, thanks for all the love n support with yesterday’s Big News! you’re all so lovely!
I want to talk to you today about something we all struggle with at some point, being contented.
Mr. B and I are currently in limbo waiting for a work change to happen; we know it will but not when. Trying to stay positive and focus on the things we have now.
A lot of parents get sad as their kids grow up, saying it’s gone too fast. This really grieves me, but it doesn’t have to be this way:
I make a conscious decision to enjoy the stage we’re at, teaching her more complicated things, shopping trips, movies she wasn’t ready to watch a couple of years ago. I am also grateful to not be hunting for Barbie’s shoe or a specific piece of Lego! 😉
Mr.B and I get time together too as she doesn’t need babysitting 24/7 and quite often has plans of her own. I’m not saying it’s easy to accept, or that my mum-radar doesn’t go nuts when we walk away from each other and she’s alone in a shop or something, but there is a joy to be found if you look for it.
A spoonful of sugar as Mary Poppins would say. 🙂 So whether we’re waiting for something or wishing something wouldn’t happen, we should just look for the sweetness of the current circumstances.
Have a lovely day my friends, I’m off Christmas shopping with the teenager! 🙂
